Muscle Strain was/is my first running injury to date. I have rested for two full weeks but my left groin still hurts when I walk, pull on pants, roll on my side while lying down, and it hurts especially when I cough or sneeze.
Fortunately, three days in, I discovered how to avoid the pulling pain caused by coughing or sneezing: it's as simple as [standing up, and] pressing your knees together.

I'm not sure why this works because I'm not well versed with human anatomy and how the muscles pull/contract when a person coughs or sneezes. I can only guess that I actually avoid such pulling/contracting motion when I press my knees together.
I discovered this when I was holding something, was about to sneeze, so I put it between my legs to hold it and covered my nose and mouth - I was surprised that there was no pain. Before this discovery, I cry out whenever I cough/sneeze because the pain is as terrible as Grade3 Groin Pull.
I should have posted this earlier. Hope that helps!
