On a "PEDESTRIAN CROSSING" area, we have a "NO STOPPING AT ANYTIME".
Perfect.
I took this on our way to meeting up with friends for our White Water Kayaking trip to Tarlac!

Godiva's Alcohol Truffle Assortment - champagne flavor tastes like flowers
This came from Guam.
We were very excited to test all flavors:
- Champagne
- Grand Marnier
- Irish Coffee (my favorite!)
- Cognac
Here's how they look inside the box.

Assassin's Creed Cake by JoyOfPastries
I had this cake made for my boyfriend's birthday:
I think that's Ezio (my boyfriend isn't sure either) from Assassin's Creed - his current favorite game.
The whole thing is edible, even the doll! The cake itself is chocolate and made from wholewheat flour.

Christmas in September
Christmas is here! This was a picture taken [very] early September. Our interior (I was thinking "internal", sheesh, stupid geek) decorator visited us first before any of her other clients. She said she'll be busy soon and it's best to fix our house now while she has time.
She started with our front door. And she's working her way in. I can't wait to go back home and see all the decors in place!
Here they're prettyfying our old-old-old Christmas tree.

Cibo's Tiramisu cake
We frequent Cibo for dinner. They serve great food and they try their best to serve the food quick but fresh and hot.
This time we tried and shared their Tiramisu cake for dessert. It was ok... It isn't a real tiramisu cake and it's super sweet. We liked it as a cake, but were a bit disappointed that it isn't really tiramisu.

Wee Nam Kee's Hainanese Chicken
Had lunch at Wee Nam Kee in Ayala Triangle. We ordered both the Steamed (Hainanese) and the Roasted Chicken Rice dishes. Then added a Salt and Pepper Squid because it looked good in the pic. Unfortunately, only the Salt and Pepper Squid was good.
I expected their Hainanese chicken to be at least as good as the ones I get from Salcedo Market especially because theirs is more expensive, but it wasn't. The service was slow, too.

CPK's Chicken Caesar Sandwich
If you're on a low fat diet, then skip this. Stick to the Chinese Chicken Salad - solo order please.
But if you feel like the extra grease, cheese, and everything else fits your macros/mood (depending on your lifestyle), then go for it! We usually stick to the salad, the pizzas, and the pastas. I started trying out the sandwiches and this one was much better than expected.

Beautiful coconut drink
Crustacia (in Powerplant Mall) servered me this beautiful fresh coconut drink with a [palm?] tree cut out from it <3
Food was good; and if you don't mind deep fried (lots of it), then it's a nice place to dine for a change. Note their food descriptions in the menu: if they say spicy, they mean it.
I wouldn't be able to afford eating there often - it kinda has the same price range as CPK. But, like I said, it's a nice place. They server food that we'd probably never cook at home and that's a big plus for me.
Isn't that puurrrttty?!

Steak Tacos by Chihuahua
Chihuahua's Steak in soft tacos, POST WORK OUT MEAL!!!
They cook their steak right. And that's saying a lot coming from me. I'm not a chef, and I don't even cook [yet]. So what the hell does my word amount to?? Well, our cook at home serves the best sisig, the perfect sinigang, and pork steak that taste like restaurant-quality beef steaks, so in my egotistical food critic mind: Chihuahua's steak is just right.
At around Php300, I first thought it's expensive but my tiny, belly-licious tummy couldn't finish the third taco so not only does it taste good, the serving is perfect as well.
Note: for on-a-budget people like myself, we call it "good serving size" when it's bigger than our appetites for a reasonable price.
My boyfriend prefers to order their burritos. Serving size is also good.
If you're comparing it against Ristras, then go to Chihuahua for the taste, and go to Ristras for the HUGE servings.

Biggest snail I ever saw
This guy was hanging around our place... actually we found out that he got stuck in the window when my mom closed it (we were having pork steak for dinner and we didn't want smoke in the house). Good thing it wasn't hurt!
Do they serve escargot with snails as big as these? Scary thought.

Pizza for the Big Guys
They brought in a 36-inch pizza from Big Guys Pizza!
The size is overwhelming. The taste is pretty good, but you'd really be buying its size more than its quality. Well I'd go for it over Shakey's pizza ever since they served us a family pizza as big as a plate....

Army Navy's burger hits the spot
Army Navy is more popular for their burritos but I prefer to order their burgers. I haven't tried the sunny side up egg add-on, cause it's good as it is!
Although I stick to a bottle of water, my high-metabolism-endowed friends enjoy their iced tea and fries.
I suggest you skip their cheese quesadilla - it's not bad, but it's also not special. So if you're craving for it, then go ahead. If not, then BURGER!!!

Mongkok Rockwell - slow service
Raw entry.
We ended our merienda with, "do you want to get the bill now? It might take another thirty minutes."
Chicken feet arrived 5 minutes after we ordered. And it was just sitting in the dimsum cart beside our table. That was fine, we were waiting for our other orders anyway.
The egg white soup arrived in 15 minutes.
The server said it will take 10-15 minutes to serve the xiaolong pao. It took them 45 minutes... And the rest of the orders arrived with it. Oh the seafood rolls arrived 5 minutes later after that.
I almost forgot about the tea and water... They arrived with the late food.
That was a really stressful experience. I used to be regular there but that awful service now keeps me from going back.
We decently pointed out that our food was very late and that they shouldn't say "15 minutes" when it will take three times as long. We followed up every 10 minutes but the waiters kept on saying, "andyan na mam" (the order is ready)...
It would have been prudent for the server/s to apologize.

New addiction: Monopoly Deal
Have you seen these cards? They're everywhere! College students, high school students, people passing their time in Starbucks... everybody's playing Monopoly Deal!
I got my deck from Toy Kingdom for Php300++
A colleague taught me the basics, then I learned the rest when I got my own deck. Now my friends, friends of friends, relatives all have their own decks. We've only had as many as eight players at a time so we've only mixed two decks (max of 5 players in one deck).

How to be an adorable roommate
Pic unrelated. I thought you'd enjoy a picture of my cute niece!
Here are a few things that I appreciate from a roommate:
- Sleep and let sleep - If you're asleep, there's a very slim chance that you'd piss off anybody. Assuming your snoring doesn't wake up the whole building, then you're fine. If your roommate is sleeping, she won't notice you and won't hate you for whatever stupid thing you're doing... so make sure you don't disturb her sleep.
- Keep your mess to yourself (Clean up) - Keep your things neat. If you can't help but be a slob, then make sure your things don't overflow onto the common areas. Best place to keep your mess is under your bed.
- Smell nice - Some people like their things messy, it keeps them relaxed. You'd have problems with a neat-freak but she'd probably tolerate it if you follow Rule#2 and if you and your stuff don't stink. You'd be surprised at how an old, decent pair of shoes can make the whole room smell like 3-day unwashed bodies. Your stuff stink because there's bacteria (accept it), so spray Lysol or whatever sweet smelling anti-bacterial sprays you have (BUY ONE if you don't) at least once a day.
- Set/keep a bathroom schedule - You wouldn't want to be late for work/school, and neither does your roommate. Ask your roommate when she needs to use the bathroom and settle a schedule. Keep that schedule. Fu*k you if you're the type who says you go 6-6:30am but instead go in at 6:50-7:20, eating up my 6:30-7am schedule.
