Whitewater Kayaking in Tarlac

Rapid Stream is offering Whitewater Kayaking trips in San Jose, Tarlac.
Explore the breathtaking landscapes of San Jose, Tarlac while having the adventure of a lifetime in an inflatable kayak. As you paddle down the incredible rivers you will be immersed in nature, surrounded by mountains, and face to face with wildlife.
They make it sound fun, right? Well... it was AMAZING!!! I can't believe I flew to Cagayan de Oro for Whitewater rafting when this is so much nearer and BETTER!

For Php1,800 per person, each of us had a kayak and a personal guide. The personal guides are essential because they know how to maneuver across the somewhat-dangerous (we say FUN!) areas so your boat doesn't flip over, or is at least less likely to flip.

The normal safety precautions are there: aside from the mentioned personal guides, we had our life vests, helmets, and briefings on how to handle certain scenarios we might encounter during the ride.

So we left Manila at 5am. We took NLEX and then SCTEX and arrived in Luisita Plaza, Tarlac City at 7am. Traffic was super light so we got there an hour earlier than expected. Early was good though, because there was an ongoing bridge rehabilitation on our way to the Rapid Stream site, we needed the additional time (but still ended up 30 minutes late because we stopped for breakfast!).

From Luisita, we took McArthur Highway (it's the Tarlac main rode going to Baguio) until we reach a major intersection right before SM Tarlac. We turned left and followed signs to Tarlac Risen Christ Monastery (Monasterio de Tarlac) where the Relic of the Holy Cross of Jesus Christ resides.

The Rapid Stream entrance is before the Monastery. If you meet people along the way, go ahead and ask. Just mention "Kayak" and they would know what you mean. Better than that, talk to Rapid Stream!

They can pick you up for an extra charge.

All in all, we arrived in the area at 9:20am (should be 9am), we geared up, had our briefing, and left our cars and valuables for a jeepney ride to our kayaking starting point. From there, it was 3 hours of fun! The guides are friendly and funny - some are shy until they've warmed up.

We reached the "finish line" at 2pm and had our native lunch hosted by Rapid Stream. If you have big appetites, I suggest you finish up quick and go back down to Tarlac City to fill up your bellies better :)
