Munich, Europe Trip: Colleagues

So here I was trying to maintain anonymity to avoid alienating readers. Then here comes a colleague asking why didn't I include them in my Munich [vacation] posts!

So to my friends in Munich, thank you for my memorable trip. May the next one (??) be more fruitful and eventful!

Jan is the boss. You know it's serious and incontestible when any of the [following] guys say "Jan said..." I'm not 100% certain about company rules and such but I'd play it safe and skip posting Jan's picture. He's a pretty visible guy, showing up on TV's (youtube) etc.

Then we have...

Stefan, the embodiment of "the client". All [web dialog] bug reports and feature requests go through him and he then translates them into developer work items.

That's him making fun of me - because I keep on throwing the peace sign whenever I pose for a picture. And they notice that Asians usually do it. I used to just make fun of it, then it just stuck!

On the right is Sasakia. Stefan's girlfriend. I very much appreciate that she came with the guys when we went to Neuswanstein Castle. She's one of the two lady friends I made in Europe. The other one is a very hospitable Ms. Patricia B. Neither ladies work for our client.

Philipp the go-to guy in their office when they have any technical questions/problems/puzzles. He's a talented developer who never gets to have the time work on our calcer cache because he's always busy with one thing or the other.

Uwe is one of our web guys whom I only spent a couple of days with. He's always up in the wee hours of the morning answering our emails even before he leaves home for his 2-hour train ride to work.

Ulli takes care of things I never get to see. Philipp and I call certain data updates "Ulli requests" because most of such requests come from him. He's a self proclaimed carnivore. No vegies, all meat.

When I met these guys, they were all in one room. But a few more team players entered the picture [after my trip] to help us get the show running so I'm not sure if they moved to a bigger place or if they split up...

A trip is about gained knowledge and experience
- growing number of vegetarians in Europe; a taste of vegetarian burger
- non-iced, almost warm, fruit shake
- Disney castle
- white sausage and sweet mustard
- carbonated water
- October fest beer and hella huge mug
- Milka (we now have them in some local supermarkets!)
