We finally had the courage to try out Kuretake, a high-end looking Japanese restaurant in Rockwell. It's right beside this really expensive restaurant called Oyster Bar -- that one we're still saving up (both money and courage) to afford.
Word is the Japanese chef in Kuretake came from Kimpura -- that owners of Kuretake built the restaurant to house this Kimpura chef master when Kimpura shut down (Kimpura still operates in Greenhills, they now have one in Trinoma, and they just launched a new branch in Greenbelt).
Anyway, more about Kuretake.
Yes, the Tempura is awesome.
The above picture shows:
(1) Solo Bento Box on the upper right corner,
(2) Special Bento Box on the lower half of the picture
The contents are...
Solo Bento Box (Php600++)
1 Chawan Mushi
1 Rice
1 Udon soup
Tempura assortment
Teriyaki(?) bowl
Fresh Fish (Sashimi)
Cooked Fish
Special Bento Box (Php900++)
2 Chawan Mushi
2 Rice
2 Udon soup
Tempura assortment -- including something that looked like Tonkatsu
Beef/bacon asparagus roll...or something similar
Sushi and Sashimi
Cooked Fish
The Special Bento Box is literally double the serving size of the Bento Box with more dish variety. It's ideally only shared by two people. Although it's huge, it's pretty difficult to share 2 pieces of beef asparagus into three or four.
For the Special Bento Box, we took home 1 rice and both Udon soups. I had the noodles for breakfast. I think I actually like it better when it's cold!
