Boob's Law

Boob's Law: You will always find something in the last place you look.

Disappointing, isn't it?

A more appropriate "Boob's Law" should have been: Twins never look exactly the same.

A more interesting law, on the other hand, is Reality's Law:

Don't fight with ugly people,
They have nothing to lose.

Ok, I'm done with the witty, funny things that you're interested on. Now comes the rants and the ravings:

1. The faults we are most sensitive to are the same faults we make.

Sometimes I find that statement true, often I don't - either that or I'm seriously out of touch with reality and am deceived with my understanding of myself. I can honestly say that among many other things, I am most sensitive about people keeping their word and sticking to the plan. In contrast to the given statement, I do believe that I honestly give my best to keep my word, or have a valid reason why I my best efforts failed. Which is why if you tell me you'll treat me to pizza within the week then you're a man of you word if you did; if you didn't and you never showed that you cared that you broke your word then screw you.

2. "The faults we are most sensitive to are the same faults we make." - To hell with people who snap that back at you.

So I'm hard to deal with once a month (mostly due to periodic hormonal imbalance), doesn't mean I can't tell you that you're a bitch to get along with. If you think I have the same faults as you do then
(1) accept your faults,
(2) start a different argument pertaining to MY faults,
(3) NEVER ever think that someone's faults cancels out yours.

3. Hope is a powerful emotion.

You can keep people in your company if you promise them that if they stick around, something of their interest will happen.

In CSI (Crime Scene Investigator) Las Vegas, a psychotic serial killer advised his protege how to successfully incapacitate his victims' morale. He said to give your victims the hope of freedom -- if only they'd let you do whatever you want with them for a while, you'd let them go.

It's also called manipulation.

Although it's easy to render someone "hopeful", keeping them in that state is a very delicate art. What you risk is people's disappointment. And that would simply bite you in the ass.

Sticky Notes: adjust font size

Windows 7 and Windows Vista both have Sticky Notes installed as a free software. It's a cool tool for people who find post-it's helpful (yep, like me!). However, the default font is ridiculous because of two reasons: (1) is F*ugly, and (2) it's too damn big for a note. I know that the older generation probably appreciates the large, wide fonts but younger users don't think it's cute, okay?

I have only successfully figured out how to resize the font size so I can organize my notes into a single, scroll bar-free view. By the way, I hate the fact that I can't scroll through an active Sticky Note using my mouse wheel; why do I have to click on the scroll bar if I have a mouse wheel for that purpose? Seriously, Sticky Notes Developers, how much additional work would that have cost you?

Anyway, in order to adjust your Sticky Notes font size, simply, zoom out for larger font sizes and then zoom in for smaller font sizes.
- If you have a mouse wheel simply scroll up for larger font, then scroll down for smaller font size.
- If you don't or if you prefer using your keyboard... then buy a new mouse with a wheel because I am yet to find out a corresponding keyboard command for this. I know for a fact that regular zoom in/out (CTRL + "+"/"-") doesn't work.

If you can't find your Sticky Notes, simply go to the Start Button >> [All Programs] Accessories >> Sticky Notes

"I'm only human"

You know how awesome the expression "LEGENDARY!" is, that's how stupid, wrong, and unnerving "I'm only human" is.

"I'm only human" is a phrase that people use when they want to feel better about doing something stupid. They want convince themselves and their listeners that their mistakes are forgivable because Homo Sapiens Sapiens is a stupid species to begin with. And since these idiots are blaming their mistakes on the same species that WE belong, then they're as good as calling US stupid.

Now I just won't accept that.

Think about it, if you weren't human then what would you rather be? Being human is the best thing you could be in your mortal life.

Would you rather be a "loyal" dog? I'd rather be the human that benefits from the illusion of a "loyal" dog. I'd rather be the human that has the capacity to choose which dog I'd get.

Would you rather be a dolphin swimming in the wild? I'd rather be the human that goes to a tour and goes swimming with the dolphins. I'd rather be the human holding the dolphin's fin when that picture is taken. I'd rather be the human that reads about dolphins on Wikipedia and says "awww how cute" on the dolphin Youtube videos.

Yes we are prone to mistakes but those mistakes are OUR personal faults and not something that we should be dismissing as a normal part of life. Mistakes are meant to be corrected - we are humans with such incredible mental prowess that we CAN make things better.

People who say "I'm only human" are making excuses for themselves because they don't want to be blamed entirely for what they did wrong. They're trying to make themselves feel better by thinking "everybody makes mistakes" so I can keep making them.
