Sticky Notes: adjust font size

Windows 7 and Windows Vista both have Sticky Notes installed as a free software. It's a cool tool for people who find post-it's helpful (yep, like me!). However, the default font is ridiculous because of two reasons: (1) is F*ugly, and (2) it's too damn big for a note. I know that the older generation probably appreciates the large, wide fonts but younger users don't think it's cute, okay?

I have only successfully figured out how to resize the font size so I can organize my notes into a single, scroll bar-free view. By the way, I hate the fact that I can't scroll through an active Sticky Note using my mouse wheel; why do I have to click on the scroll bar if I have a mouse wheel for that purpose? Seriously, Sticky Notes Developers, how much additional work would that have cost you?

Anyway, in order to adjust your Sticky Notes font size, simply, zoom out for larger font sizes and then zoom in for smaller font sizes.
- If you have a mouse wheel simply scroll up for larger font, then scroll down for smaller font size.
- If you don't or if you prefer using your keyboard... then buy a new mouse with a wheel because I am yet to find out a corresponding keyboard command for this. I know for a fact that regular zoom in/out (CTRL + "+"/"-") doesn't work.

If you can't find your Sticky Notes, simply go to the Start Button >> [All Programs] Accessories >> Sticky Notes

  1. Why don't you use Stickies instead?

By the way, I hate the fact that your comment editor can't support character navigation (up/down/left/right), shift selection, clipboard functions (copy, paste, etc), and redo/undo.

  3. You can adjust font size for new text (or highlight existing note text) and then press:

    CTRL + SHIFT + <
    or
    CTRL + SHIFT + >

  4. @David Llwellyn - Thank you so much for that tip! I have added into the main post so more people will be able to view it.

Have you discovered how to keep the text size even after you restart your computer? It appears to me that the text sizes default to their original size when the machine reboots.
