"I'm only human"

You know how awesome the expression "LEGENDARY!" is, that's how stupid, wrong, and unnerving "I'm only human" is.

"I'm only human" is a phrase that people use when they want to feel better about doing something stupid. They want convince themselves and their listeners that their mistakes are forgivable because Homo Sapiens Sapiens is a stupid species to begin with. And since these idiots are blaming their mistakes on the same species that WE belong, then they're as good as calling US stupid.

Now I just won't accept that.

Think about it, if you weren't human then what would you rather be? Being human is the best thing you could be in your mortal life.

Would you rather be a "loyal" dog? I'd rather be the human that benefits from the illusion of a "loyal" dog. I'd rather be the human that has the capacity to choose which dog I'd get.

Would you rather be a dolphin swimming in the wild? I'd rather be the human that goes to a tour and goes swimming with the dolphins. I'd rather be the human holding the dolphin's fin when that picture is taken. I'd rather be the human that reads about dolphins on Wikipedia and says "awww how cute" on the dolphin Youtube videos.

Yes we are prone to mistakes but those mistakes are OUR personal faults and not something that we should be dismissing as a normal part of life. Mistakes are meant to be corrected - we are humans with such incredible mental prowess that we CAN make things better.

People who say "I'm only human" are making excuses for themselves because they don't want to be blamed entirely for what they did wrong. They're trying to make themselves feel better by thinking "everybody makes mistakes" so I can keep making them.

  1. You're definitely right. It's a silly excuse. 'Enjoyed reading your blogs, btw.
